Lori Dickman’s Bio:

Lori Dickman has been sewing for over 40 years and quilting almost 30 years. She teaches numerous quilting and sewing classes. Her quilting journey began in 1988 when she created her first quilt. After spending 15 years learning the art of garment sewing, she taught herself to quilt. With each mistake came more insight and understanding and determination! With her move to the Chicago area she has had the privilege of attending yearly workshops and classes taught by nationally-known sewing and quilting instructors at the many Expo’s in Illinois and Wisconsin, as well as through the American Sewing Guild. It has been a wonderful journey for her!

Quilting truly has been a great way for Lori to allow her creative juices to flow, it allows her to express herself in fabric and color, and it allows her to show her love for others when she presents them with a work of love in a quilt that she has sewn with loving attention!

Lori’s quilts and garments have won numerous awards at: The Harvest of Quilts Shows in DeKalb IL; the Illinois State Fair in Springfield; Simplicity/American Sewing Guild competitions, and her Pendleton wool suit jacket and skirt took 1st place at the “Make it with Wool” Illinois State Competition in 2015. Lori is a member of the American Quilters Society, American Sewing Guild/Chicago Chapter, and the DeKalb County Quilters Guild.

Lori’s desire is for others to learn to love the art of quilt-making and wearable art as much as she does! So come join in the fun!
