Spring is finally HERE!

by | Mar 16, 2022

So happy to see the daffodil shoots starting to ‘spring’ up! Love the 60-degree weather here in Illinois! Can’t wait to get out in the flower beds and start planting!

Wanted to share a video of quilt top photos made by my students who attended the Spring 2022 Mystery Quilt Zoom Classes! They all did a great job and I hope to see many more photos shared out on my Monday Night Mystery Quilt Facebook Group page (LINK HERE).

I named my Spring 2022 Mystery Quilt pattern “Grandma’s Favorite Garden Path.”  Grandma was the one who instilled in me the love of gardening and quilting! I can remember taking walks through her garden as she would point out the different flowers and help me remember their names!  My Mystery Quilt patterns always use my Speedy Solutions Techniques, which means the students get to use their scrap stash to create a beautiful quilt. This pattern involved pieced blocks, applique blocks (glue-baste or adhesive; and some even used the Needle-turn method!), and pieced borders! It challenged some to new levels, which is the goal!  Some learned to applique who had never appliqued before. Some learned to ‘piece a border’ who had always just used strips for border in the past! Some of the students made the Queen-size version instead of the Wall-size version! I love challenging the quilters to try something new!

I am already preparing for the Fall 2022 Free Zoom Mystery Quilt Classes. You can register for those classes out on my Shop under the “Courses” tab… Click Link HERE!

Happy Spring & Happy Quilting; Lori Dickman!   Here is the Video of some of the quilts… Enjoy!
