The Journey
Lori Dickman is an educator, an author, and a pattern designer. Playing with fabric and color has been her passion for over 45 years, and teaching others to join in on this sewer’s/quilter’s love affair is near and dear to her heart! The art of “Making” has been a wonderful creative journey for her.
Lori was a Presenter in the 2021, 2022 & 2023Great Wisconsin Quilt Shows. Lori is a member of the American Quilters Society, the and the Sinnissippi Quilt Guild of Rockford, Illinois.
Additionally, Lori has taught/is teaching at the Gulf States Quilting Assn, QuiltFest Virtual Schoolhouse, and on the Canada/New England Quilt Cruise with Stitchin’ Heaven Quilt Shop Travel.
Her desire is to inspire others to learn to love the art of quilt-making as much as she does! Join her on the passion and fun of “creating!”

Traveling Quilts
Awards & Recognition
Lori’s quilts and garments have won numerous awards in various contests around the country. Recently, three of Lori’s quilts have been traveling in Exhibits:
1. O’wl Sit Under the Light of the Oak Leaf Moon
Lori’s Art Quilt, “O’wl Sit Under the Light of the Oak Leaf Moon” was a finalist in the yearly National Quilt Museum contest, “New Quilt from an Old Favorite.” Lori’s quilt hung in that Exhibit at the National Quilt Museum from April through June of 2019 and travelled with the Exhibit around the country until December of 2020.
2. Bouquet of Flowers for Mom!
Lori’s Art Quilt: Bouquet of Flowers for Mom! was accepted into the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show 2020 Botanical Exhibit. Her quilt will be traveling with that exhibit until September of 2022.
3. Tangled Stars!
Lori’s Art Quilt: Tangled Stars! was accepted into the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show 2021 Art Deco Exhibit. This quilt will be traveling with that Exhibit until September of 2023.
4. Nancy on the Set
Lori’s Art Quilt: Nancy on the Set took the Blue Ribbon in the Nancy Zieman 40-Years Challenge of the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show. This quilt will be traveling with that Exhibit until September of 2024
5. Shield Ferns
Lori’s paper-pieced “Shield Ferns” quilt was selected to be included in the 2024 QuiltArt Engagement Calendar; American Quilting Society, Paducah KY.
6. Black, White & Read All Over
Lori’s newest traveling quilt, “Black, White & Read All Over” wall quilt was accepted into the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show “Black, White & One” Challenge. It will be traveling the country in various Quilt Shows until September of 2026.
