The Christmas season is a busy time of year for families… especially for mom’s and grandma’s who are decorating, shopping, baking and preparing wonderful holiday meals for our family and friends! Often, we get so busy we don’t take time in prayer, praise and preparation for what is the most important part of this Season, which is the Birth of our Savior!
A very dear Christian friend from our church, Mrs. Vicky Gomez, has offered listeners on her Podcasts opportunities for women across the world to stop, listen, and spend time with the Lord as we examine our hearts and our lives through the wonderful devotions that she airs on her Podcasts and website: Esrealy.com
Her website and podcasts are a tremendous blessing heard by over 9000 listeners across the world in English and Spanish speaking countries. I am so thankful to her for the time she takes to record and post these podcasts. Although most of them are in Spanish, Vicky has asked a number of English-speaking women from our church to speak on her podcasts. As you search through the list of podcasts, you will get the opportunity to hear from Mrs. Kim Gomez, Mrs. Amanda Cavanaugh, Mrs. Lucille Anderson, Mrs. Rita Landem, Mrs. Vicky Diehl…all members of our church, Northwest Bible Baptist Church… and I’m sure I’ve probably missed a few names of members who have been on the podcast over the past few years.
In each podcast, Vicky takes the first 10 minutes or so to welcome and encourage her listeners (in Spanish!). If you don’t know Spanish, then you might want to fast-forward in the podcast to about the 10-minute mark or so. Vicky uses a translator so that the English-speaking women can also be understood by her Spanish-speaking followers. I will have to admit, speaking with a translator is a bit unnerving, but it can certainly be done! When she asked me to speak on her Podcast this month, I was a bit anxious about the translator part… or as our Pastor jokingly refers to them… interrupters! LOL!! But, I believe it went well. I was honored to have the opportunity and certainly treasure my friendship with Vicky! We took a photo together in the church foyer after recording the Podcast (below).
As you go about your daily routine during this busy season, I hope you will spend some time listening to the Podcasts on Esrealy.com and, ultimately, spend time in your own devotions with the Lord!
I pray this Christmas season brings you and your family great joy as you celebrate the birth of our Savior!
