My two favorite applique techniques are: Glue-Baste and paper-back fusible applique. Glue-Baste is wonderful for creating soft applique blocks but does create a little fuzz on the edges of the applique elements. Paper-back fusible applique creates a crisp, clean applique; however it is stiffer due to the fusible adhesive that is fused to the wrong side of the fabric pieces.
