Merry Christmas!

by | Dec 25, 2020

Today was a beautiful sunny day here in Illinois! Scott and I enjoyed a quiet Christmas together. This morning our son, Ryan, Face-timed us from Minneapolis. We had a wonderful chat. After a delicious lunch and dessert, I also got to Facetime with my sister and her family in Omaha.

I spent a few relaxing hours this afternoon sewing the Facings onto the backs of a few of my Art Quilts. I designed these quilts in an iPad app using various elements to create the pictures. It was fun designing them and it was fun making them!  These particular Art Quilts are simple applique using either a glue baste or Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 fusible interfacing.  I don’t like using a ton of fusible interfacing if I don’t have to… makes quilting the quilts SEW much easier!  Glue basting the elements is a favorite method of mine; that way the quilting is much less stressful! !

Enjoy the fun and festive Holiday Art Quilts … and have a lovely Christmas and New Years!
