What a fun trip we had in April! I won the Grand Prize (Quilt Cruise on Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas) for the Northern Illinois Quilt Festival in 2015! So, in April of this year, my husband, Scott, and I were treated to a marvelous trip which departed out of Cape Canaveral Florida and set sail for the Caribbean islands of St. Marteen and St. Thomas!
There were 28 gals who were part of the Stitchin’ Heaven Travel Group on the Cruise. We worked on 3 different quilt tops while we were out to sea. The Conference (Sewing) room was available to us 24/7 to sew to our hearts content! We had fabulous quilt instructors, from Stitchin’ Heaven, as well as Carrie Nelson (Schnibbles!).
I had a blast sewing like a crazy woman… pieced the 3 tops and also pieced a miniature of the Bennington (Schnibbles pattern). Now they all need to be quilted!!
Here’s a few pics of the fun we had on board ship and also when we docked at different ports… The Ship was huge…15 stories tall!… with theaters that seated 2500 people, a miniature golf course, a skating rink on which professional Ice Skating productions were presented, a Promenade deck (gorgeous!) with every kind of shop and restaurant imaginable, swimming areas for the very young, the young, and the “young at heart!” a climbing rock, and so many other fun things to do… never a dull moment on board or off!
Make sure you participate in this year’s 2016 Northern Illinois Quilt Festival for your chance to win a Quilt Cruise! Stop in at your favorite Quilt Shop and get all the details!
