Scrapbag Quilter’s Lecture at Lake Summerset, IL

by | May 20, 2019

We all enjoyed our time on Thursday during the Scrapbag Quilter’s Guild meeting at Lake Summerset in Davis, IL. The ladies are a great group… very hospitable and very talented!  The wonderful items brought for “show ‘ n ‘tell” by all the ladies there was very inspiring!  The selection of treats was remarkable and the Lodge facilities are beautiful.  If you’ve never visited a Guild meeting at Scrapbag Quilters, I encourage you to check them out sometime soon!  Their information can be found at: https://scrapbagquilters.org/index.html

I had been invited by the Program Chairperson, Kathy Longerman, to speak to the group this month. My lecture, “My Favorite 3-D’s: Diamonds, Dresden’s and Drunkard’s Paths” is always a fun lecture for me to give. In the lecture, I present my favorite 3 “D” templates (Diamonds, Dresden’s and Drunkard’s Paths) and encourage the ladies to try one or all of the templates, as I demo about a dozen different template options within each of those three “D” categories.

I also present a Trunk Show of quilts made using those dozen or so different 3-“D” templates to inspire the ladies and get their creative juices flowing. I love to hear from the ladies after the Lecture/Trunk Show as they tell me which of the templates and quilts specifically “spoke” to them and how they can’t wait to get home and try the template!  At each of my Lectures, I also have patterns and booklets for sale.

I want to thank the ladies at Scrapbag Quilters Guild for their wonderful hospitality and for how welcome they made me feel!  Happy quilting to each and every one of you!
