Step Two Fall 2020 Monday Night Mystery Quilt

by | Oct 25, 2020

Hey, Quilters!

It was a joy “meeting” all of you this past Monday evening (Oct 19th); and I am excited to “see” many of you on the Zoom Call tomorrow evening (Oct 26, 2020 at 7PM CST). Many of you have emailed me to let me know you’ve finished your homework for the “Fall Fields of Four” Mystery Quilt this past week (8 Maple Leaf Blocks!)  Great Job, Quilters!

My webmaster sent out my Zoom invites with the PDF instructions for Step Two a few nights ago. I will discuss those instructions on our Zoom call tomorrow evening (October 26, 2020 at 7PM CST).  If you didn’t see your email invitation that went out Friday night, first check your Spam folder. (There was only one email that bounced back, but all the others show ‘delivered.’)  If you still don’t see it, please CONTACT ME through my website and I will get the zoom info to you that you’ll need for Monday night’s call!

Below is the PDF link for the Instructions that you’ll want to print out.  I look forward to seeing all the beautiful Fall Maple Leaf Blocks you quilters have completed! Email photos to me when you complete yours!!

For those of you who want to get the CENTER of your Fall Fields of Four quilt top pieced this week (next week we will be adding borders!); here is a photo of the placement of each block for the CENTER OF THE MYSTERY QUILT!!   Wall Quilt:  (16) blocks total (4) rows of (4) blocks. Total of (8) Maple Leaf and (8) Hourglass blocks.  Be sure to ORIENT each square correctly!

NEXT WEEK:  Border templates and attaching beautiful borders!

For those of you who have asked about making a larger Fall Fields of Four Mystery Quilt, here is the photo of the Center of the larger square quilt top. The larger quilt will end up being 82″ x 82″.  It contains (36) blocks total; (6) across and (6) down. There are a total of (24) Maple Leaf Blocks and (12) Hourglass blocks in this larger quilt top. Again, be sure to orient each block correctly. Also, let me know if you have chosen to make this larger quilt, as the templates for the Borders will be a different size than those in the Wall quilt (above).

Happy Quilting!  Stay tuned for next week’s PDF of the templates for the Borders!  Lori Dickman

P.S. Quilters, my Zoom video had a ‘permanent error’ while rendering last night after our session.  Sadly, we have no video to post with this week’s Mystery Quilt. But, fortunately, the Hourglass block was a very simple block demo and the video mostly involved getting to know all of you, etc.
