UFO’s…Un-Finished Objects
Do you have UFO’s laying around your sewing room?
Are they cluttering up your working surfaces in your sewing room? Or, are they hidden in closets and drawers, or under the bed, or in any other space where you could possibly hide sewing projects?
This year, let’s take inventory of our UFO’s and then decide to finish one UFO per month is 2017!
Pictured here is just “one” of my UFO’s! It’s from a great workshop I took a couple years ago with Jacquie Guering (https://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com) at our DeKalb County Quilter’s Guild. What a fun workshop. Jacquie taught us how to make fast and simple hexie’s using a 60 degree triangle ruler!
Even more fun was laying those scrappy hexies out on a flannel board (or in this case a flannel on the floor!) to decide the location for each hexie! Once I had them all in the rows in which I wanted them, I just rolled up the flannel very carefully and took it to the table by my sewing machine and started sewing the hexies together. Jacquie also taught us a method of sewing those “y” seams together. I was thrilled to see how quickly and easily the hexies go together using her seaming method!
